Scored this beauty amidst 4th of July celebrations today. The wear of the CAR over gold over 2-tone sunburst is REALLY awesome. Can't wait to see it progress more over time. The bass is super light and crazy resonant. The neck on this thing is amazing! Here are some photos:
Wasn't the selling price of this bass being discussed the other day? Hope that went Ok for you. This bass is a thing a beauty. Would be interesting to see the neck pocket and under the pickguard; not saying you have to go there. Congrats!
Don;t forget to post pics here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/fender-fullerton-reissue-club-511899/
Thanks, everyone! Plays and sounds awesome. It really needs a set of flats on it. Ordered D'Addario Chromes (my fav) which will be here next week. That will complete it. Maybe bridge and pickup covers? Ask and you shall receive!
Dude...im envious. A custom color fullerton. Way to go..they sound good don't they..pretty mid growly.
That neck is simply stunning! The rest of the bass is really nice, too, but that neck... gorgeous. Now, give back my bass! Nice find, I hope you have a long and happy life together.
Thank you! The only thing I'm to crazy about are the raised A string pole pieces. It's vintage correct but I think I'd prefer flat poles. The neck makes the bass. It has a nice amount of Birdseye in it, too. Pretty unreal.
8 lbs. 11 oz. on the nose. Maybe I'll warm up to it. I'll leave it be for now. Think I'm going to order up a bridge and pickup cover set to complete the look. Here's a photo with my beloved '71.
I was watching this one on ebay. Was thinking of bidding on it, but then again i don't need another fullerton pbass. But damn these basses are great... i love mine to death Congrats!
They look good together. Quick word about this 1971. One of the best early 70's P-Bass I've ever played. A tone machine.
Agreed. It quickly puts anything I bring into the house in its place. I adore the '82 CAR but it'll never be my '71. Cold hard truth.
Sweet Sweet CAR bass Bro'; but thet SB is the killer diller. That FB almost looks like ebony. Congrats on both sweet basses. John Sr.
