Okay, well, a long time ago, I saw my friend and he was wearing a NOFX shirt. I asked him whether they used effects (out of curiosity about the name). I knew that they're a punk band, and assumed they at leat use distortion. He said they do, and, on "Melvin uses the Melvinator", well, Melvin uses the Melvinator. I don't know if he's the guitarist or bassist, so sorry if this is a guitar question. I'm not a punk fan, really.

Anyway, I'm curious what the Melvinator does, and what it sounds like. He mentioned that it "uses a lot of 9-volt batteries" (I assume that's a lyric of the song), but nothing about it otherwise. Anybody know?
