Non-american Fender jazz wood

    Hey.
    Maybe FMIC could help me with this one - anyway:
    Do or did Fender use ash (swamp or northern hard) in any of their non-american jazz bodies (except for the signature basses)?
    Just curious...

    The Japanese '75 RIs are ash.
     
  3. i was under the impression that the non-american made stuff was either alder or poplar.

    A lot of the instruments that come out of Fender's Japanese factory is made of ash or "sen". I think the only thing that gets distributed in the US from Japan, though, is the Marcus Miller Signature.
