all wenge everything Carrigan Designs Scroll fretless
    34" inch scale
2 Nordstrand mm5.4 pickups (quad coil)
    bridge in 70's jazz position
both pickups with 3 way switch-Up- Parallel, Middle- "Single Coil", Down- Series.
    Delano sonar 3 preamp
    forward knob-blend
    bass
    mid
    treble
    volume knob-all knobs ebony
output jack arrow wenge custom artist inspired

    1.75 inch width nut
    17mm string spacing bridge
    12" radius
    11 lbs

I got it last night and have only played it for an hour or so. Wide range of tones obviously.
HUGE sound in passive. The b string is the best I have tried.

I am still learning my way around the preamp, but what little I messed with it last night, it works well.

Very happy with the bass and the whole process. James Carrigan from Carrigan Designs (can find on facebook) did a great job. The craftsmanship is superb.

I can put up build pictures if anyone is interested. It was amazing to watch the guy move forward in his work.

Another special thanks goes out to @Carey and @maurilio for helping me select, walk through the process, and then get custom made these incredible pickups.

and to @Doner Designs and @line6man and others thank you to talkbass for helping me understand how pickups work and the sounds they get in my quest for this bass

does anyone have an idea where I could get a gig bag/case that would fit?

this thing is a good 2 inches taller than my l2500 sitting in my 5 guitar rack

It should fit in a Mono gig bag (M80).

That's a really lovely bass. Enjoy it!

If you measure the bass top-to-bottom, most case companies publish the inside dimensions of their bags.
For instance, my fretless 5 is very tall at 47". The igig bags are 47.5", so I knew it would fit when I ordered it, and it does. I believe that other brands will also accommodate 47" basses. Check and see how tall yours is.

Dude. That's gorgeous. I miss my Carrigan sometimes, and I've thought more than once about getting James to make me another. He and his wife are good customer service people. And just look at what he can make!

  18. I watched the build for this one on Facebook with great envy - wenge is probably my favourite wood, and this looks absolutely gorgeous!!!

I was GASsing for a Carrigan before, and this bass pretty much drives that through the roof. :)

    Congrats on the amazing score!
