Here are some pics of my new six string made by Carey Nordstrand. There are more pics at www.nordstrandguitars.com. This is hands down the best bass I have ever played. I wouldn't trade it for a $10,000 Fodera and I've been a big fan of Fodera for many years. This one is also a hell of a lot cheaper. This bass plays effortlessly, sounds electrified just as it does acoustically and it's also very pleasing on the eyes. Carey's work is flawless and his pickups are unreal. I have found a builder for life.www.nordstrandguitars.com

That is a very nice axe you got man! I don't liek many SC's but I like it! :D Is the center black thing another humbucker or somethin between teh otehr two, or is it just some kind of decorative thing? Or is a control cavity?

That's a ramp under the strings. Both the ramp and the pickups are radiused to the fingerboard.

Nice! So I guess those pickups Carey made are working out for you? What kind of pre-amp does your bass have? I believe mine is scheduled to be finished next and positive reviews like this make me even more excited.

The pickups are great. They really bring out the true qualitys of the bass. For me they are the best pickups I've ever played, and I can promise that I've played them all. This really is the best bass I've ever played. I couldn't be happier.

Sweet! It's cool (and fairly rare) to see another luthier making his own pups.

That is beautiful... congrats... I want one just like that one, minus one string.

    How reasonable on the $?

VERY inexpensive, IMHO, unless you get goofy with upgrades. My singlecut fretless was a bargain and a half. He could have list prices up there with the NY guys, but he doesn't. Quite frankly, they're incredible instruments. My next one will be done around July or so.

  20. Wow, that is a smoking bass. I downloaded all the pictures off of Carey's site last week. That truly is one of the nicest basses I have ever seen.

I really like singlecuts, and I am gonna be wanting a neck-thru/set-neck bass in the future. Ahh, another one to add to the potentials.
