    Hi,
    I've just bought a Nordstrand mm5.4 for my MMan stingray 5. It has the 3 way switch for parallel-series-single coil. I soldered the nordstarnd to the mman preamp but it does'nt work, everything is single coil, i can't figure how to connect the wires to the preamp to keep the same parallel-series-single configuration.

    Any help appreciated!
    Thanks.

    You'd need to solder the pickup wires to the switch, not the preamp board. Are you trying to reuse the original 3 way switch?

    The original p-up was soldered to the pre-amp.

    Ah yes, my mistake.

    The 5.4 isn't a direct replacement for an SR5, it's got additional switching options that the SR5 doesn't have. How do you currently have it connected?

    check your grounds, call the shop, or best bass gear.
    Should go pickup -> switch -> preamp
    Ground from pu -> one of the 6 contacts on the switch -{ground on the input jack, shielding}

    The preamp has solder points for the pickup and the switch

    EDIT: This may help...

    Yea and the extra leads are for alternate wiring options specifically for the x.4 designed mm pickup. So one could flip between the front two coils and the back two while always being noiseless, doing a p-bass kinda thing splitting the front and back.

    Thanks for your help guys, but i'll bring it to my tech. Too much for me. Too bad Nordstrand who sells this as a replacement for MMan can't provide a way to connect it to the preamp.

    if you post a picture of the back of the oem MM pup in a way we can see how it is wired, we might be able to figure it outÂ….

    with both pickups in your hands and a meter you should be able to figure out the lead's color
