Nordstrand NJ4's

    I installed a set of Nordstrand NJ4's in my Am St Fender Jazz bass and IMO these are the best Jazz Pickups I have ever heard. The stock Fender pickups weren't all that bad, but these Nordstrands are absolutely KILLER.

    Yeah that's pretty much what I thought too. I noticed better response and warmth as soon as I plugged in and played.

    Kind of a modern/vintage sound.
    Nice low end but mids are missing something.
    Nice pups though.

    Interesting, IMO the mids are the nordstrand strength.

    I found the mids missing on the tone of the CS 60s pickups installed on my Am. Std. Jazz Bass ... I think these pickups are slightly overwound ... I watched a YouTube comparison of Nordstrand NJ5 with AlNiCo 5 and 3 magnets ... the sound of the 5 was the incarnation of the jazz bass sound IMO ...
