Nordstrand NJ5 or Aguilar 5J-60??

    For strong, muscular tone with the bridge solo'ed most of the time. Not looking for nasal, twangy tones.... looking for dry, strong, powerful tone that stands on it's own without a lot of EQ'ing

    I have the NJ5FS on a fender mia deluxe...pretty great sounding with bridge solo'd and a little bass rolled on from j east pre - not nasally - more growl than anything with a little bit of bite depending on eq

    I have the NJ5FS in my Fender MIM Deluxe with the Nordstrand Pre. From what you describe I'd probably suggest a split-coil as opposed to the single coil version.. You'll most likely get less twang and noise verse a robust sound with the splits.
