  1. I'm selling one of Carey Nordstrand's more unique and distinctive creations, my custom SC5. Yes, I just got this one back not so long ago, but I've come to see that--much as I love this one--I'm really a bolt-on kinda guy at heart. So, I'm selling it to order a bolt-on that includes all the things I really like about this one...

    The specs:

    --set-neck single cutaway design
    --wenge neck
--28-fret stabilized ebony fretboard and ebony headstock overlay, both with white binding
--alder body and figured myrtle top
    --zebrawood heelblock
    --satin finish
--Nordstrand humbucking (I think) pickups with ebony casings
--Aguilar OB-3 preamp with active/passive switch and passive tone control
    --black Hipshot hardware
--ebony control knobs from Gallery Hardwoods (not shown in photos)

The bass is in excellent condition, with only a couple of tiny dings. The workmanship is exceptional (of course!), and it plays beautifully and sounds great. Asking $2400 plus shipping.

I'd say a nice big WOW  is appropriate here. . . but I hear you on the bolt-on thing. Bolt-on necks are where it's at! Bump for another example of Carey's mad crazy luthier skills

    You got a pm!
  12. I'm not sure, and I'm terrible at guessing that kind of thing, but it's never struck me as particularly heavy. Somewhere in the 9-9.5 pound range, maybe?
