Oh man that is ugly.
The gold hardware is interesting but I probably would do without the gold pickguard. I used to own a Peavey Zodiac DE bass with the chrome pickguard and that drove me crazy! Not just fingerprints and smudges but even the smallest scratch on it looked horrific. I would probably do with a brushed gold pg or better yet, a black plastic one.
Keep her away from the president. He may grab her bridge!
Did you nick that from Donald?
I like it.
Definitely not a fan of gold hardware, or gold jewelry for that matter (yuck! distaste). But that Midnight Traditional MIJ P bass looks pretty cool, so black guard on that Ray would definitely be an improvement.
Was this some sort of dare amongst the Ball Family? Yuck.
Yes, that line comes in pretty handy.

Too blingy for me. But that aside, I've always thought Music Man basses were kind of "clunky" looking. I did buy both a Stingray and a Sabre back in the '70s (function before form). I never could get a satisfying sound out of the Stingray and sold it. On the other hand, I still have the Sabre and it served me well for years. But ultimately, these days I prefer the humble p-bass. Not only for its looks but also for its sound.
I thought this thread was going to be about
the first Rap song..
Not into gold...
100% this, tasteless.
I've never been a MM fan as far as aesthetics.
But I'd rock the hell outta that!!!
In fact, I've been thinking about a gold project, but haven't really decided on which one to do.
Many times, I see gold that doesn't suit me, especially if it’s old and tarnished, or the wrong color body.
But when I saw this one here on TB, I knew something gold was in my future.
Looks cool, if it sounds good then it's superstishous.
I love it, just the way it is.
I find black finishes dead common and avoid them, but I'd play that one in a heartbeat.
Aria Pro did it first! Behold, the "Black 'n' Gold" series, from the early/mid 80s.
I actually own a Black 'n' Gold CS-450 medium scale bass, but sadly most of the gold plating has worn off.
There was also an EPIC 'Black Gold' version of the famous Datsun 280 ZX.
I think the gold pickguard is a bit much, but the rest of it? It's lovely if a bit impractical.
very much not a fan of gold nor the demographic targeted with those cars, but my dream barn has spaces reserved for one of those and a matching period 911.
