Not another "Help me ID this bass!" thread

    I've been a huge fan of Velvet Crush for years now and recently stumbled on this video of a reunion concert in Japan from last year. Does anyone know what kind of bass Paul Chastain is playing? It looks like a Strat and has a Fender-esque headstock (but no markings that I can see), and the pickups kind of look like Danelectro single coils (?). Just curious! And sorry if this is some very famous kind of bass that just escaped my awareness.

    Thank you! I googled "Fender bass three pickups" and nothing came up, but I had a feeling it wasn't such a rare one.
