Woo! February 7th, our city is having a showcase of new bands.

Its my pop punk band (I would prefer my metal band, but at this point, I just wanna gig) and we'll be playing like 6 originals and 2-3 covers.

    Im pumped, I haev a gig :D

What I'd like to know, is, any reccomendations for a first gig? The music is easy, but specific things to watch out for?
  2. try not to look anyone directly in the eye, DON'T drink or do drugs, concentrate on the music, let the music decide what you do/feel like doing..

    And most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!

I'm pumped for my gig in Feb, i REALLY can't wait!

    p.s. wrong forum ;)

Best advice. Have fun. Also be ready for the unexpected:)
  8. Good luck with the gig, remember - things usually don't go exactly as you expect. Club owners, sound techs, PA's, room acoustics, and audiences will be different every time you play. Just remember that:
    1) You do have some responsibility to the club owner and the audience,
    2) Be professional,
    3) If you get frustrated, remember - experience takes time
    4) Have a blast.... lots of people wish they were doing what you do

And take a extra set of strings please! And if its cold there take gloves so you can warm your hands before the show! I have played hundreds of shows and toured alot! The thing that always get s me is the cold hand thing! i just stiffen up!
