I saw the holo flash finish on the spector legend 4x. He plays a few times a year in an 80's cover band. He would love the look. However which would be easier to play standing on stage? Legend 4x or the legend 4 classic?

The Legend 4 classic in my opinion is far more comfortable. Also available in the holo flash finish.

Thank you for your advice. There aren't a lot of reviews to go off of. I feel better about it now.

I'm totally biased towards the t-bird shape so I'd say legend 4x, especially if your going for flashy 80s looks. Both are great though, no wrong choice here.

I don't think he has that type of bass. Is that style easy to play or do you need experience with it?

Yeah what jellin said, totally depends on what he's comfortable with, if you're unsure it's probably better to play it safe and go with the legend 4 classic. What kinds of basses is he playing currently?

My current issue is I cannot find a classic 4 in the holoflash new and from a reputable dealer....hmmm. He plays schectors and an Ibanez currently. Mostly the schectors.

Can't go too wrong with either classic or X.

Both very comfortable! Borrowed them both from a buddy for an out of town gig and it nearly made me sell all my fenders!

I thought there was a used (almost new) one in the classifieds here.

Can't go wrong with a Spector!

  19. You are a great girlfriend! Maybe it would be better to give him a gift card or cash and let him pick out the bass since it all comes down to how it feels in his hands. This way he will be totally happy with it and you will also be happy with helping him to get a great bass. :):bassist:
