$5,000 for this? I’m thinking someone out there might get burned at this price... what say ye? Vintage 1959 Fender Precision bass - musical instruments - by owner...
My dad always said “If someone’s dumb enough to sell it, someone else will be dumb enough to buy it.”
People are so cute sometimes when they let you see them dream. Since it is refinished, and has had the original hardware and electronics replaced, I’d respectfully submit a buyer has merely acquired a PB. And while it may play well, and even sound marvelous, it’s now just another modded Precision Bass rather than a “1959 Precision Bass.” And (IMO) it’s hardly worth paying such a high premium to obtain it.
If that is a 59 someone should have their butt kicked for what they did to it. Heck no matter what year it is they ruined it!
Having myself a little Deep Purple listening session this early morning, thanks. Now up: Highway Star.
I’ve never understood the fascination with old Fenders. Actually, i’ve never understood the desire to pay that kind of money for an old Fender.
What did it feel like when they removed the Fender logo? Who was like “yeah, why not” Regardless of whether it was vintage or not, some people make some weird aesthetic choices. Or maybe it never had one. Has anyone seen an aftermarket p neck with the phillips truss adjustment?
