Hello all! So I got this Grunge FX69B distortion pedal. I wanted it for mostly personal use, just to see if I like it in metal songs and stuff. Well, I plugged it in, and WHAM! Tons of distortion. So I put the "grunge" knob all the way down, and there's still too much for my taste. I tried playing with knobs and the EQ on my Rumble 15 practice amp. Still too much dirt. Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so, how did you dial down the dirt? TIA C68D5686-8079-4DB1-A986-572751F85A55-722-0000014BEB44A1B7_zps166d3293.

BTW: "Grunge" just refers to distortion. Also, what I'm looking for is something like Black Dog by LZ. Just enough dirt to make it sound edgy, but you can still hear the note behind the distortion.

A good overdrive is what you are looking for.
