woohoo! it took me a long time to pull the trigger on this. i kept waffling. I had the VT Bass before, and didn't mesh with it. i almost bought the bass driver DI, then looked at the VT Bass DI, and then read about the para driver. I can't compare it to any of the above (been too long for the VT Bass), but this pedal is pretty amazing, and apparently, i can use it on my guitars too. For my simple Fender Jazz, I have dialed in a tone something between Entwhistle and Squier, and then found another setting that makes my little SS BA-210 sound like an SVT. It's got a really nice, warm sizzle on the top. Sounds fantastic. The one thing I don't particularly fancy is that the level out is much higher in active than bypass, even when I turn the 'Level' knob down. And, if I use it in the effects loop of the BA-210, i get some noise, so i use it in-line. Otherwise, I may just leave this pedal on all the time. Just posting in case anyone else is in my shoes! ...pic included!....
I think you made the right choice choosing the Para Driver, it has better tonal qualities than the similar Bass Driver DI. That is why I chose it. I also have the VT Bass Deluxe and the Leeds and all three get good use. I am partial to Tech21 products.
