Last week I got the email that the Timmy was back in stock. Luckily I jumped on it as it reportedly sold out in 10 minutes. This is my first time using a Timmy and only got it as it came highly recommended by guitar players for gain stages, and I hear that it could be used for bass. I've only messed with it for 10 minutes or so, but I really like it. Sounds great on guitar, and works just fine on bass. It doesn't lose much bass and you can mess around with the eq to get a really works let overdrive. I found the internal switch accessing the asymmetrical clipping sounds best to me. Thickens the sound and shaves off some of the annoying high-end stuff. So far it's a keeper. Anyone else using it?
I built a Timmy clone some time back. The tone controls were very much for guitar and weren’t very useful on bass. However, the grit structure was very nice, great breakup and as you said, it maintained the low end. A Great overdrive On bass.
It's tough to beat the grizzly overdrive. I stupidly sold one to get an Aftershock. Just another step in the constant hunt for the perfect drive.
