Last night, i axidently slept on my left arm up near the elbow on the under side of my arm. When i woke up, i couldent feal my thumb, index, ro middle finger on my left hand. After trying and try for like 1 min, i could finally move them. Then i got some cramps in my arm from moveing them. This has happened before to like..my whole arm is numb, you wait 2 min, and your normal again, but with my fingers its different. They feal weird now, almost like they are heavy and weak and im really scared. My bass is at my friends and all i have here is this guitar an old friend left here axidently with some strings missing. I tried playing on it and i was ok, but im just worried. i just woke up at 8am and its now 8:28. Im going to go lay back down tell 11, so mabye i will be ok by then. Has this happened to anyone else??~??
This happens to me quite regularly, but I see no problem at all. It gets back to normal after a few seconds.
I think you'll live. This happens to me all the time, you cut off circulation to your arm that's all, it comes back. I'm sure you'll be fine.
it's called carpal tunnel. I have it and wake up nightly with numb fingers, just shake 'em awake and go back to sleep.
This is not carpal tunnel, it's the weight of your heard cutting of the circulation of blood going in your fingers. Has this occured only by sleeping on your left arm? If so, stop it! PS: I remember doing the samething....
Impulsee,I have some bad news...I'm afraid there's nothing else we can do...except amputate your left arm...Just hold still *turns on saw*
This use to happen to me frequently, i liked the feeling, thought it was cool... but i decided it wasn't the greatest thing for my arm. So i position myself so that my arm isn't udner my head at all. I used to sleep with my arm unde rthe pillow, and now it's down along side me..... -T
dont worry, im ok now (shucks LOL) its weird. becuase even though it wasent numb anymore, it still felt weird. but as i was sitting here after posting that thing, i started rotating my my wrist, and i herd popping. and i gave my wrist a good shake, and i herd a really loud POP...and then my hand was 100% normal again...it was weird....anyhoo, im calling the FBI in 2 days and telling them to make sure Osama_spears never becomes a Dr... - w00t
You gotta be careful about that stuff when you are going to sleep. My friend slept on his arm in a wierd way, and had to where something on it for a month or so. You will probably be fine, but be careful about how you sleep in the future.
I really hate when my arm goes to sleep in the daytime because then I just know it's going to be awake all night.
My fingers get really numb (on the left hand) when I play, when I want the notes to sound nice not have that metal echo sound thing goin on.
