How do you know if your nut is the cause of a buzzing issue? Is a nut replacement something I could do on my own, like replacing a bridge, or would I need to take it in? For those of who have had this done how much did it run you?

The buzz doesnt kill any of my notes, but they sound almost like a fretless mmwwah kind of a deal. Not cool.

    Other Problem(aside from buzz)
-When I tap any notes above the 9th fret they kinda die, but not totally. I just get a more quiet sound from them. all of my fretted notes are fine, so that rules out a loose fret. Also not cool.

    All help is appreciated.

  2. i'm no pro but i would think that any affect the nut could have on a FRETTED note buzzing would be minimal..

I'm not a pro either at this but check out some truss rod adjustment threads...
