Bill Bennett, the owner of New York City's Off Wall Street Jam has passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash.

"The Jam" got me back into music after years of stagnation. It's a place where anyone who had a desire to play music could go and find like-minded musicians to play with. Bill was a young man; it's really very sad news.

    Damn.

A student of mine that lives up there part-time (in Brooklyn) was a regular participant in the Off Wall Street Jam, and he complained constantly about the lack of such an organization/group of folks in our area (Orlando).

    This really sucks.

    :(
