"Oakland" Basses?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Aussiephoenix, Apr 15, 2005.

  1. Hi, I recently scored a nice little bass of ebay, pretty nice construction, looks late 70's, neckthru and stringthru, which is currently in the process of becoming a fretless...

For the price I paid, its a REALLY nice bass, and whats more interesting is the electronics that they used in it...

this thing is passive with only one P-Pup, and apart from the vol and tone, it has a mini-switch that should be the coil mod, though it wasnt working properly, and is also getting fixed now, but it also has a 7 position switch-knob that is incredibly well done, connecting various combinations of condensers(?) to create a huge array of diferent sounds... on a passive :)

Either way, Do you guys know anything about this "Oakland" brand?

I'd like to find out more about them.
