Wow! All I can say is WOW!

Matt Pulcinella knows how to make a bass.

    Its a Level 6 w/ a Butternut/Wenge/Flame Bubinga body w/ a wenge/wenge neck, and bart soapbars.

All I can say is, WOW!!! Easiest bass I've played yet!

    Here's a few Shots

Man, that is sweet! I love the finish and the wood colors.

    Nice Sandwich.

    Any sound clips?

    Sound clips possibly this weekend.

This thing surprised me on the tone. Not as dark or growling as I thought it might be. The tones that this thing creates are killer.

I'll see what I can get down for you guys...

Nice. How much does it weigh?

Also, is it neck-heavy? A lot of wenge-necked instruments are, but the extended top horn might solve that.

Well...Pulcinella claims its one of the heaviest he's built, but its a LOT lighter than the 'wick. I have to say the combo of the extended horn and the mass of the bubinga counter the neck weight. There is no dive whatsoever. This is a very comfortable instrument to play. The body is a little on the big side...but with it being a 6, I think its balanced well looks-wise.

Very attractive bass. Never had the opportunity to play any of his creations myself.

Well...I actually didn't have a chance to play one either before I picked it up. Scary part is, I can't say that I've ever played a six that I liked. Luckily for me...this thing is amazing.

I just spent a few hours w/ a guitarist friend of mine, and the overall feel is about as close to perfect as I've ever played. The tones are very versatile...and what I was truly wondering, there is a nice growl from the woods now that I'm starting to put it through its paces.

Tomorrow will be the true test... band rehersal. Full volume...will it cut...I'm sure it will...but we shall see... and I should be able to get some sound clips from tomorrow as well.

    Here's the headstock pic (wenge)...[IMG]

...I'm going to take some more pics agains a lighter background since the woods are dark...and so was the background...

    ...tooting my own horn :p

Sorry it took so long...here's a quick recording w/ the bass going through the aggie pre and the gt-6b, but w/ just some minor eqing and a little delay. The diff in bass tones is some of the more drastic EQ'ing that I can do on the bass itself...

    ...its a little rough...so be gentle :D

  19. cant see the pics anymore. sounds damn good though
