To get a nice crunchy (not insanely dirty to provide note clarity) distortion/overdrive, are you for the OCD or the Proco RAT?

This applies whether or not you use a clean blender with it. Lemme know what you think!

An OCD provides clarity over 90% of the gain pot. The RAT provides clarity the lower 1/2. The RAT can do higher gain and brashness.
No blender needed on either, unless you get a crappy RAT II.

rat 2 is just awful on bass.

i like both pedals. i would say go for the Rat if you want something more aggressive, or the OCD if you want more subtle dirt. You say 'crunch' I think Rat.

There are like 5 different pedals currently made by Proco. So the Rat 2 is no good for bass, are any of the others any good for bass?

To be honest I'd prefer to have the Fuzzrocious versions of these pedals, I love the OSD though as it isn't aggressive.

Id love a rat tail but you cant beat a whiteface spec rat as a trade for a way huge swollen pickle... I wasnt going to use the pickle.
