I wouldn't worry about it being too dark. Maybe a hair, but 4K isn't as dull as you might think. I never felt a lack of top end, with various rigs, when using a SC. The EQ on that Mesa should give you plenty to work with.

The Supertwin is anything but dull, it gives such a crisp sound it will throw out what you give it pretty much uncoloured.
Regarding volume if your head, you will have way more experience than me, but if I take an example of my Form Factor head being nowhere near halfway in volume (prob on about 3), passive bass and yes a couple of pre-amps in a two Notes and Hartke VXL and a Cali compressor (but not set for massive vol spikes, pretty much unity) then I easily filled a room the other day with enough noise.

Hi I use a Mesa walkabout head with my Big Twin II which is basically the same as the Super twin but with the horn added and for most of my gigs, reggae and my weekly house band set (50's 60's, 70's rock & roll pop and blues) the tweeter is off. This is a backline only gig and the cab is great fills the room cleanly or loudly if needed. I could easily drown the rest of the band should i desire to but I don't.
The reggae gigs I do with it are always large with FOH and the sound from the boogie head BF cab is powerful and easily heard round the stage. I move around a lot so having that great off axis sound is just what I need. Yes in my application, the walkabout delivers perfectly with a much more dense and uniform sound coming through the barefaced cab compared to any combination of one or more of my previous three mesa boogie powerhouse cabs.
I have a super-twin as my main rig, Firstly I had it paired with a tc electronic bh 800, I found this rig too boomy and dark sounding, but after switching too a Markbass Ninja it all sorted out pretty nicely.
Now the rig is balanced, tigh low end, barky present mids and a sweet top, I do however like too boost my treble too 2o clock, and would never do that with a tweetred cab.
Also I tried the cab with a 700rb, was then able too get alot of snap out of it, so I guess it depends much on the amp. However the supertwin is NOT a cab with a detailed treble, I also have a hartke 2x10 hydrive combo without tweeter and its much more detailed up top with brighter treble, also most 10inch drivers have more sizzle up top than the supertwin.

That sounds like a very cool event. I checked out, "Rusting My Eyes", with all it's wonderful deepness. Just out of curiosity, will be you be composing live with other musicians?
Thanks. This one will be an interesting one. I get to work with a very talented guy who was at our very first event. We have a rough outline for the first 30 minutes, and the remaining hour will be improvised. He will be using a variety of live and electronic sounds. I'll be doing everything with synths and samples on my laptop for this one.
I have been working on using hardware synths and fretless bass, but I'm not ready to do that live, yet. I'm excited about the new Dunwich reverb pedal, which should become an integral part of my rig, along with the Malekko Dark delay, and Pigtronix looper I already have. I picked up an Mbrace guitar holder, which lets me mount my bass on a mic stand, so I can transition between instruments more easily.
We have a tight window to load in and get the sound going, which is why I picked up my second BB2 to make a PA. There's a flight of stairs involved, and the previous rig we used had powered mains and passive subs with a big racked crossover and power amp. This system should save quite a bit of time and effort.

I'd imagine you should be hearing soon... what was their estimate? For my Two10 they estimated 4 weeks and it should be exactly on target... just got my notice to pay yesterday, I ordered 28th. Different models may differ slightly.

There is actually a lot of treble detail there, you just need to boost the highs. A lot of cabs have a peak in the low treble, which is probably what you're referring to as sizzle - the 12XN doesn't do this, the cone is very controlled and rolls off smoothly, and the dome behaves similarly but quieter and higher. But they go higher than almost any other non-tweetered cabs.
I have to say I compared my Hartke Hydrive 410 side by side to the Supertwin as I was changing over.
It's night and day, the Supertwin wins hands down, for detail, punch, clarity.
I pushed those alu paper cones to farting and the Supertwin laughed at it.

So the Super Twin has more deepness and punch as the Hydrive 410?
The Hydrive has a decent top end for almost any gig... Does The ST close to the top end of that 410?
Its hard to tell by online videos without playing one live.
And i have literally spent and lost thousands $$ on TB over the years..

You should just get one. The resale value is high so your risk is low. Most people that get a Barefaced love it. My SC continues to amaze me.
I would be surprised if there is not someone who owns a BF that lives in your area. Lots of musicians in Austin and Nashville, right?

The Supertwin is different with different amps. With 1100w it's deep and suave; 500w from the Kustom micro and it is a little barky. In a good way -- it was a Precision. I actually get more compliments with the Kustom. It's almost easier to hear, more in your face; it didn't feel quite as dynamic but it was perfectly loud enough without exercising the amp, at venues up to an Elk's ballroom in size (and would have been fine at a bigger place if I were good enough to play them). Yeah, I could be getting by with a Super Compact and then add another later on, but at 40lb it's still a pleasure to move.
