I'll Vouch for the 2 BB3's are WOW!!!!

I can't vouch for a pair of BB3's, but I can vouch for a pair of BB2's and "WOW!!!" most definitely still applies!

I find I don't always need both and play our smaller venues with just one. A single BB provides plenty of rich low end and clean overall volume in a smaller place. Plus, the shock on the faces of other musicians in the audience when they ask about my rig (especially if I let them pick up a cabinet) is pretty satisfying, too.

But I DO like the situations where I decide want to use both.

I have 3 BF 112's. I use an SM/BB2 for the really loud bands, an SM/SC for the normal bands and just the SC for the quiet bands.

I'm always looking to get more out of less. . . . an SC/Tweeter paired with an SC might be a good 2 cab rig for all bands.

The Super Midget is now the Super Mini. You can select with or without a tweeter.

Tweeters don't usually appeal but Barefaced's approach is interesting. It would be nice to A B the Mini and Mini T for a while, take them on a variety of gigs and hear the impact of that tweeter in the real world.

I'm not against a little "air" in my sound. This probably relates to my Jazz more than the PJ5, but I figure if I have generated high frequencies, I'll reproduce them.

Have you noticed that a cab can sound deeper if there's also good high end energy?

Previously, I've been opposed to tweeters in bass cabs, but only because of how they sound when executed poorly. I don't like ice picks in my ears. Alex' videos gave me hope that a cab with a tweeter can sound marvelous if well executed.

I would say it is quite the opposite. From my order: " (standard Super Midget now renamed Super Mini T)"
The Super Midget had a tweeter. The Super Mini has no tweeter. The Super Mini T have a tweeter

I had that same question. I asked Alex, "Is there any functional difference between having a stack of two BB3 cabs vs. a stack with a BB3 and a Super Compact?"
He responded by saying, "I don't recommend BB3+SC stacks, they don't get on as well as dual BB3 or dual SC due to the magnitude/phase differences in the low frequency response."

I just realized that i by this annotation have ordered a "dual SM stack" sounds kind of kinky.

The bb2 plus sm stack was approved by Alex, so pobably bb2 with sm(no tweeter) would be acceptable. As a long time fan of the bb2 plus sm combo I can personally recommend it for both versatility and volume. I own several Barefaced cabs, the SM is hard to beat for tone, volume and convenience.

I just received an email from Alex, with a link to his 12" stack recommendations.

On that page, he says this:

"But if you're looking to buy two Barefaced 1x12XN cabs to stack, here's the pair I would NOT recommend: Big Baby 3 (or 2) + Super Compact (or Super 3rd). I shall try my best to explain why! Basically the BB3 goes lowest, whilst the SC doesn't go as low but has similar output in the lows (just rolling off higher). The SM rolls off a bit higher and has less output. When you put a BB3 with an SM, the BB3 fills in below the SM. When you put an SC with an SM they help each other out, more in unison than one on top of the other in terms of the low frequencies. But the BB3 and SC overlap in such a way that they don't add in such a nice way. It's not awful by any means and I'm sure someone out there is using a BB2 or BB3 with an SC - but I think you can do better with 2x12XN cabs."

I was wrong. The Super Mini on top of a BB2/3 is one of his recommended stacks.
