^ Beautiful. Are you going to get a spitfire guard for that one or leave it as is?

I’m scheduled to join this club tomorrow, can’t wait!

I had that thought for a minute..a dark tort, but for now, I'm keeping it mint. I just ordered a Spitfire Jazz guard, so my tort fund is depleted for the moment :)

I really love this Bluesman. Its different enough from my Nash that I can have two different tonal options on gigs while still playing a P! Nash, more thumpy with the 2 year old LaBella's. The Bluesman, more bark and airiness to the tone...hard to describe, but I can imagine it being my "classic rock" bass and the Nash more my "country" bass. Completely thrilled to have both!

No idea where my Jazz project, that will be completed in about 2 weeks, will fit into the rotation.

Understood, I've been following your spitfire thread. The mint looks great anyway :)

Another new member here. I'm in with my 62 DeVille.

This one has been around the club a bit but has found a new home. I'm still at work and haven't had a chance to plug it in yet but I'm diggin' it thus far :)

    Several months later...

Did I say "this weekend"? Obviously I meant 'after the next supermoon rises'. Last night, finally, I refreshed the white Eldorado. First, the old strings came off and the fretboard got bore oil.

Unlike the black Eldorado, the white had passive electronics as stock. I retained its jack and the wires connected to it, then shielded its electronics cavity and new pickguard.

That's right, I did not shield the pickup routes. I didn't have the heart to risk losing the perfect balance I set between the two Flying Mojo pickups' heights. (I since posted a review of the Flying Mojo pickups.)

Some new pots, cavity grounding, other wiring, and Rotosound 66 strings later, the white Eldorado is sounding good.

Looking good, too, with its black celluloid pickguard. Yes, it is thick. But check out that gratuitously wide bevel! I like it. ;) Lastly I scuffed up a new tug bar and added it for vibe.

These days, this Eldorado is one of my few favorite basses. I'm playing stuff on it, and in a certain way, that I wasn't sure I was able to. And it sounds pretty ridiculous.

Hey y'all! I just wanted to make a quick post and say that I'm selling a lake placid blue El Dorado over in the "Classifieds" section if anyone is looking to add another BMV to the stable. Single-owner with upgrades!

For Sale - 2014 Bluesman Vintage El Dorado - Single-Owner, Upgrades, OHSC

Hopefully these kinds of posts are permitted here! This bass needs a great home!!!

Getting the itch to try a P Bass again. Love my BMV Jazz (Best bass I've had my hands on. Period.), so I'm thinking a P from John will have the "it" factor I haven't found in a P this far.

I'm not super familiar with P's, so I'm feeling ill equipped to custom order. I've been looking for used, but they seem to be made of unobtainium....

    Anyone know of any available?

Or.... Have any advice on the pickups/spacing options? I think there's 4 pickup choices, and 2 spacing choices. I'm clueless.....
