My B5 (pictured earlier here) has the current rod, with B bridge and previous 9-volt pre.
Some of the older piezo equipped bases have 18v electronics and the old truss rod. The bridge is the older style piezo bridge.
Yeah if it has Piezo then it will be 18v either way. And of course it will have the Piezo bridge so no Hipshot. In that case you’ll just have to look!
I always ask now to see the truss rod. Even when I was looking at a used bass in a GC a decent distance away, they were willing to snap a pic and share. I did have one that I thought was going to snap when adjusting it. It loosened eventually.
If I remember correctly, they changed all of the neck-through models to the Hipshot A but left the B on the bolt-ons for a while.
Weren't all of the P-series bridges Hipshots? My 2004 is based on a Hipshot B. To incorporate piezo elements, the saddles for that model had to be changed significantly, but the body is the same. A few years later when they upgraded to the A, I remember seeing Hipshot A bridges with graphite piezo elements on the P series bases in my local Carvin store. They were able to keep the saddles on those more similar to the normal ones.
Interesting those single coil radius pick ups...what would they be similar too in sound? the P pick up or a J pick up.?
Swapped tuners...basses look way better now, imo.
Taking the Icons to a winery gig...
Wanna see that green one more!
Is that emerald or teal?
I think it’s emerald...?
Kiesel's Facebook yesterday. Wish it were mine.
Pretty wild! Although, it does kind of remind me of the trashy wild animal "Ath-Leisure" wear you see people wear.... LOL
My jaw dropped when I saw this. That top hits my eyes as the perfect mashup, as if zebrawood crossbred with pale moon ebony.
Guessing that's a bloodwood board....
I may be in the market soon for a new bass. My LB75 is still my favorite but it's getting a little long in the tooth and I'm thinking about maybe putting into semi-retirement. I know they don't make them any more so the question I have is; what current Kiesel model is closest to the LB75 in specs. Mostly worried about neck shape and size and string spacing. I want something that feels as close to my old bass as possible. Any ideas? thanks
Icon 5 string. The LB75 was made wit htwo different string spacing options - you'll need to know which one you have. I went between an LB76 and an IC6 with no issues.
I don't believe that was the case when I ordered mine back in '95. I'll measure and check the Icon specs. Thank you!
