What about the Neck plate? The bass won't look super flashy, but it will look clean!

Specs below to those who forgot:D:drool:

    1. Glarry Burlywood body
    2. Maple Fretless neck (from Wong's shop)
    3. Fender vintage bridge
    4. Roto 35-90 SS rounds
    5. Dunlop Straplocks
    6. Custom Pickguard (by Pickguard boy)
    7. EMG Geezer pickups
    8. Hipshot string retainer
    9. Gotoh Resolite Reverse tuners (I paid $104, Eats paid $97, Mac paid $107)
    10. Custom neck plate (by JRA)
    11. Custom headstock decal (by JRA)

I'm hoping the stoke Glarry knobs fit on the EMG pots, but don't know. Anyway to see if they do/don't, @JRA? If not, i'll order some.

i've clear-coated the decal for the neckplate, and i've painted an aluminum plate white, but i haven't applied the decal to the plate yet. i'll probably do all of the drilling/aligning/yada yada with the stoke neckplate and install the custom job towards the end of the build/assembly.

jawamac: i'll check, but FWIW: i have a bunch of knobs that will fit, depending on what you want.

also: check this out --- some cool stuff! (and aluminum knobs could be cool, no matter the color.)

also: amazon has all kinds of knobs.

  5. Nice work going on there!
watching paint dry is my favorite past time, next to watching grass grow:wacky:
Seriously though, @Jawamac is a lucky dude to get a bass done up by you!!
Is the neck plate Decal a secret?.., is it a pic of a goats butt? (That would be...something)

This came in. Very happy with my purchase. This guitar is a 10! For $159 it’s a 15! Boxes all ticked. Color is somewhat darker than the Pics show.

    A 10?
    A 15?
    For $159, maybe it's a 15.9!

  14. Good one $159 shipped? I think you did better than me. I got a red B-stock 335 copy that is going to need work to look that good. I like the sunburst better too.

    jawamac's fretless maple

    the neck:
    - re-locate side dots
    - apply headstock decal
    - poly/clear-coat where indicated
    - install tuning machines
    - install string retainer!

    day two:
    - drill/dimple for the new side dot locations
    - color the new dots (paint)
    - watch the paint dry

getting the side-dot tool in place:

new dot locations located (viewing angle makes it look a little off):
    20210610_171724.jpg

all done --- i coated the holes with some wipe on poly so the black paint won't try to bleed into the wood so much):
    20210610_173001.jpg

watch the poly dry and then color the dimples (and notice jawamac's new string set arrived today!):
    20210610_174253.jpg

that fingerboard edge looks pretty messy and 'invaded', but i think it'll clean/sand up real nice and smooth when the work is done on the side dots. i'll dab some black into the new side-dot holes later tonight or first thing in the morning. the black will have to dry, then i can fill any dimple/concavity with some clear, and move on --- i'll sand and coat (finish!) that edge in a day or two. i can get the decals going in the meantime.

  17. I would definitely like to see a pic when their on!

$171 shipped. I can’t believe the quality of this beautiful guitar. Ive spent upwards of $2000 that wasn’t as nice. (Rhymes with Chickenbawker). Sellers are buying them up in batches turning around and asking more so they sell out fast.
