I have a P Bass Lyte. Off to find my camera for pics.
Here's my 70's resissue CIJ:
Gonna get the Olympic white alder 70's CIJ next for a bit
Anyplace to show off Pinkie (that's what I call her). I love her. She's currently my main bass. That may change at Christmas, cause I'll be getting a MIA Jazz, but I'll still love her and she'll become my #2 bass. I currently have 6 basses and at Christmas will have 7, so #2 is still really good.
A beauty, Eric
Thanks. I love her. It's not the best pic, but the only one I have right now. I'll be getting another one for you guys. I'm thinking about putting on a finger/thumb rest and a bridge cover. I like the Jazz bridge cover cause of the F and the shape in general, but I'm afraid it would take up a bunch of room for when I finger pick (I slap a lot). It looks like the P bridge cover doesn't extend so far towards the neck and would leave more room, but I think it's ugly. What do you guys think (which bridge cover and/or should I even get the cover and thumbrest)? Oh, and I'll get some better pics of Pinkie tomorrow.
Here's my Geddy Lee again!
My CIJ Geddy Lee w/ pearloid pickguard and Sadowsky pup's:
My CIJ '51 P-bass re-issue:
My CIJ 50's re-issue P-bass:
'70 RI Precision.
'62 RI Jazz.
I've got to get some new photo's of the Jazz, without the protective film on the pg and the dorky sticker.
I have a sunburst lefty '62 RI, gotta take some photos!
It's nicer than my MIA Hot Rodded Pbass and cost less!
I know you all say the MIJ have great quality, but what about the lower, $570 versions with the non-american pickups and basswood bodies, are those comparable?
I'll play. Here's my Geddy:
Does that have the thick coating on the back of the neck? If so, do/did you find it diffrent to play than one with a satin type of finish on the neck?
If by 'thick coating' you mean a thicker finish than regular MIM and MIA, then yes.
I prefer them that way and I love the vintage tinting.
It does feel different but I wouldn't say plays different.
I'll have pics of my Geddy when I've changed some parts around in the next couple of days.
This picture is 4 years old and includes annoying US-made content too, but it's the only picture I have at hands and I had to contribute to this thread. I still have them all. Besides the two US-G&Ls and the Yamaha, everything is Fender-Japan, even the strat.
1982 Squier JV-Precision
1997 Duck Dunn Precision
1997 Noel Redding Jazz
1996 75 RI Jazz (My main bass, the Pickups are Fender Custom Shop Jazz)
1987 Fender Japan Strat
You'd probably have room, but not much.
I've seen that white P quite a bit, what model is it exactly?
ive only had it a couple of days but it is sooooo sweet.
Where did you get it from and how much was it? I've only found it on Japanese sites. Know of any place that I can get one from that ships to APO AE? If not, I'll have it shipped to a friend in the US and have him send it over to me. If it's only on Japanese sites, which ones have enough English/American on them for me to order one?
