Did you get to hear the 1x12? I was suprised how much sound came out of that tiny box. I actually put my hand up to it to feel, just to make sure it wasnt the 1x15 underneath. I think i actually like the voicing of the 12 slightly better. The 12+15 made a formidable rig with a very small footprint.

  4. Hoping to receive mine in the mail this week... I'm in Canada and have yet to see one in the flesh. I have a first gen Mpulse600, how does the Subway compare??

    Boam Edt...

Care to share a comparison between your new Subway head and your MPulse 600?
I have an MPulse 600 as well and am considering replacing it with the new Subway.

    Congrats on your new amp!

I'm probably going pick up a Subway 1x12 to go on top of the 1x15. maybe as early as next week.

I did just that test today. The 600 seemed more harsh and in you face, while the subway felt smooth, 3D with a much more finese in its tone. The 600 didnt seem short on volume compared to the d800. I definitely prefer the d800 tone wise to the mp600. It sits in a mix more evenly and its super easy to find a great tone, as they all are useful. It also seems to be nicer to my mesa 1x15, in the sense that my cab doesnt have any weird noises or rattles, as it does with the mp600. The voicing knob is great feature to have and sounds great in any direction. All the way clockwise is a super deep vintage thump and counter its cleans up the sound with more difinition to the notes.

The treble control also adds very pleasent highs to the mix that sound very organic/natural. I genreally turn my treble mostly down, but this will change with this amp. I have had it past noon and it brought out many notes that were before, hard to hear. Generally with alot of amps, i find the treble knob always adds in brittle harshness to my sound that i dont like.

  8. Wow, very interesting! I would never describe my Mpulse as "harsh"; it is very pillowy and phat although a little undefined. My tweeter is always OFF on my PH210 though, that may be the difference. Super excited to receive my Subway, thanks for the quick comparison :)

I play it all. Whatever works for the gig
My MP600 always was smooth with a nice pillow below everything. One of my fave amps... I need to get another one. .I only wish it were 900 watts or 1000 so i would have a little more headroom

I preordered the head from Sweetwater and was hoping to have received it by now but no dice. My next gig is November 7 so I'm thinking I have some time still.

I plan on making a trip next week to Asheville, NC to check one out. Taking my wife with me in case of an uncontrollable GAS attack. I need to sell off some gear first, then buy. :hyper:

I was considering selling my Electric off to get one of these and a Mesa cab last month. I quickly came to my sense though and the GAS abated. I would love to/will have a D800 someday, just not right now. Im glad I didnt sell my Electric. I wouldve regretted that for the rest of my life I bet. Great looking rigs guys! Would love to hear more about these mini monsters of tone..
