Oh dear me, someone got it a little wrong

    Not sure what forum this should go in, but just have a look at the bass on the cover of this book and then look at the title. Mmmm.... I can smell the irnoy from here.

    That probably ruins the books credibility pretty quickly...
    maybe they thought sunburst = Jazz
     
  3. There's certainly no rule saying you can't play jazz with a P, and the book's title is obviously referring to the style of music not the style of bass. Ironic, yes. Damaging to credibility, not really.

    Thats a good point nicoli, lucky I can fall back on the fact that im new to this "bass" thing :p

    I find it ironic that a thread involving a "Precision" gets double posted. Especially when the mess isn't cleared up afterwards :(

    I think all of you guys missed the point. The book has the massive words 'Jazz Bass', but it has a picture of a P bass. Get it? The irony has nothing to do with playing jazz on a P-bass. :spit:

    While we're on this topic, then... (to answer Smash's "Who else?" question)

    I think Percy Jones played a fretless P on some early Brand X stuff.
