I made the mistake of trying out DB the other day and I fell in love with it. NOw I think I need one. However I have some doubts

1: I want an acoustic bass but because of the size etc I will probably start with an electric upright. Do they sound the same or similar?

Any suggestion on brands and types?

2: If I go acostic what is all this 3/4 an 4/4¿? talk? Is there much diference in sound?

3: Can I start out with a cheapo acoustic bass or are they a nightmare.

It is only for jazz. I am already a frettless only jazz bass player so the transition should no be hard, right?

well thanks.... And I hope to join you guys soon

Please do - just don't be in a hurry, and educate yourself about what you're getting into if you decide to join the dark side. The benefits far outway the drawbacks, but it's a long, long road...just make sure you understand that you're training for a marathon before you start running.
