Ohm Question

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by ben_jammin, May 7, 2006.

  1. I just bought an Ampeg 8x10 cab the other day; and while I'm saving up for a head I plan on using my old combo or possibly another head of my friends. The question lies in the ohm impedence. The heads are 8 ohms, while the cab is 4. Is this going to be a problem at all? Should I just wait and save to get a 4 ohm head? Thanks guys / gals!

If the minimum impedence of the head is 8 ohms, do not plug it into a 4 ohm cab. You will most likely damage the head.

    What head are you using?

Its very possible that it is infact 4 ohm stable.
