Oil/wax finish: to wax before the hardware installation?

    Hello,

I am at the final step of the body oil finishing, there are already 6 coats of teak oil (buffed with the 000 steel wool betwean the coats). The result feels and looks gorgeous - smooth and uniform.

Now's the time for the carnauba wax application and final buffing. What I cannot figure out is should I install the bridge (Gotoh 201) before or after waxing? Will the (soft) wax coat between the body and the bridge kill/reduce the sustain?

Do it before. Most of the wax wipes off as you buff it so there won't be any buffer to speak of.
