when LW replaced my S1 with the S2, i was completely blown away.

i had them tweak the range of the mid sweep.

    very tastey!!!!

    the IceTone is KILLER!!!

night and day diff from S1 in my opinion.

the new basses will all be S2!!!

just wait until you hear the price range on these things!!!! i'll let Chris publish that.

Me like. When are we getting the lowdown on the pricetag ? ;)
    I like the S2 electronics...but I'm still a TAD partial to the S1 bridge.

pricing? is that all you people think about?!?!?!

    hehe, but of course...

i've only informally been told what the range will be. but, try to understand, i really would hate to get it wrong, or LW's production costs change - then a retail price change...etc...

soon, very soon. all will be revealed.

considering the woods and hardware...these Lightwavers will be very affordable compared to current basses with these pickups.

ok, here's the pricing scoop direct from Chris Willcox' mouth:

You have permission to leak the there will be three models, ranging from a tad under $1100 to a little over $2000, street prices will vary of course.

    there ya go!!!

    not bad, me thinx.

Does anyone have any sound clips of a Lightwave-equipped bass? I'd like to hear this new(ish) wunderkind pickup.

  15. Here's one I took at NAMM a few years ago. It's owned by a fellow TB'er. I forgot who though. I got to try it out. It was probably the best sounding bass I ever played.

i am seriously thinking about adding one of these to the tail end of my gas list.. right after some recording stuff. so does wood and such matter with the lightwave or is it some kind of synthisis?

Still no mention on the LW website.

-When will they be officially announced?

    -When will they be available?

    -What stores will carry them?

-What about that Tune designer question?

-Where are they made? Are they being made by Tune? Are they reasonable in price because they're being made in the same Korean factory as MTD and others?

Not that I'm interested or anything!

true, not sure when the site will be updated. good point, i'll ask Chris.

    within 30 days.

first lot shipping to the sales team now. trying to give small stores a shot at them, instead of just loading up the music supermarkets..

    what was the question?

they are being fabbed overseas. the wood is purchased here (US), final assembly is done here (US), they are not made in Korea, they are not made by Tune.
