I have done some searching around here and the cheapest you can find a set of EB Slinky 5s is $27. Now Slinky's aren’t top-notch strings, if any thing they are at the low end of the string totem pole. Ive seen them at $32 at the closest music store. I use Slinky’s as an example because they seem to be the best compromise between longevity, quality, and price. I have to do quite a bit of driving to get them for $27 and even more for $20, $20 seems to be the most common price for these. Why such the mark up on strings around here?
