OK So I Am Not Crazy and it Was a Great Amp (NOAD)!

I just received an amplifier today that is the same model that I bought used in 1983 (my first amp). Along with that amp I bought a 1978 lawsuit Jazz Bass copy, which was a fine instrument. I sold/lost both. A couple of years ago I found my original bass (partially pictured) and bought it, which was weird enough, but then last week I located the same amp model (I don't assume it is the same amp) on Reverb and ordered it. Yes it is a dinosaur but oh my the tone is so awesome! Tonight I have been playing my original rig, 40+ years later.

Here it is (along with a Kustom ad I found somewhere):

It is 65 Watts with a 1x15 speaker. It sounds better than my later model amps. It sucks to get old but then you have experiences like this every once in a while haha!

FWIW, I don’t know what it is about the latter-day Kustom amps and combos, but all the ones that I’ve tried seem to outperform their price points by a mile.

I know the feeling! I started playing a decade later, but on the same era of equipment. After a lull in playing, I came back with some different ideas about sound, but ended up on very similar equipment to what I had at first. It sounds like you enjoyed it as much as I did.
