just a quick note fired off through my jet-lagged haze to say what a pleasure it was to meet you in Anaheim. Having just bought both Ball-Hog... and ...Engine Room, your currently occupying the lion's share of my listening time. Great stuff, really inspiring.

Now I need to start wading back through your history... :)

Hope to see you again soon!

    take care

much respect to you brother, for coaxing the sounds you do from that machine of yours. me and kira were quite honored to join you and the others at that bass bash. dave pomeroy was great people too.

as for being a latecomer, I once heard:

    "the only thing new
    is you
    finding out about it"

another good quote is from orson wells:

    "no wine before its time"

(I know, I know - it was for a gallo commercial!)

  3. watt,

that wells quote makes a hell of a lot more sense than "rosebud".

as for the wine itself, i'm more partial to montevina white zinfandel myself :D

Check out Firehose's "Raging Full On." I'm gonna make Mike blush but on the 2nd or 3rd track titled something about Meat Puppets (Sorry, Mike I can never remember titles properly), Sir Watt has a frantic, fast paced but cool as hell, VERY jazz inspired bass line that still floors me even after nearly 15 years of listening to it. It's completely off the charts. Was that really you, Mike, or did you hire a stunt double? ;)

Anyone who drinks "White Zin" is guilty of the most horrible crimes against humanity.

I heard 'Raging Full on' in 87 or 88...it changed my life!!!
(I just stuck it in the disk player myself)
It is sooo tense yet so at peace all at the same time....
Always my first choice in the "Desert Isle Disks" conversations.

When turning other musicians on to Watt's genius I always start with either 'Brave Captian' or 'On Your Knees' or 'it Matters' from 'Raging' before moving to newer or older stuff.

Thanks Again for the insperation Mike!
