I am a classic car lover, and I have sort of "fallen out of the loop" for the last couple of years since I had to sell my '59 chevy truck. I guess it was my form of denial... hehehe

My whole family is into old cars, really. We had, at one point, nothing but old cars. I had my 59 Apache, my dad had a '69 El Camino SS (may it rest in peace!) my mom has a 1966 Impala, and my younger sis had a 1966 Olds Toronado (425 cubic inches and 385 HP of huge front wheel drive, batmobile looking power!! :D ) My older sister is the only one that didn't get into them. Now the only one that is still with us is the 66 Impala, which is a beauty! My dad bought it from the original owner, and it was in mint condition.

I am quickly getting back into it now, and I can't believe that I went without looking at a single car magazine (used to subscribe to 5) , or pricing one outrageous hot rod, Piece by piece in Jegs for so long...

So, who else is into old cars? What have you got? Show us your beauties if you can!!

i really like older import cars. early silvias, 240z's, 510's celicas, vw bugs, things, type3's, type 4's, german built rabbits and sciroccos, bmw 2002's, big old benz sedans, even some of the japanese cars from the 80's were cool: mitsubishi starion, oldschool celica supra, 300zx turbo...

but, i don't think there are more than 2 or 3 american cars i would ever buy or desire.

I really like old cars and trucks. I have owned in the past:

71 Chevy Impala - The Boat Mobile

    72 Olds 442
    78 Ford Bronco - 3" lift 35" tires
    69 Ford Bronco - 3" lift 33" tires
    92 Jeep Wrangler - 4" Lift 33" tires

    I currently own:

Next project Id like to do would be a smallblock S10, or a 4x4 Suburban with 38's. Problem here is the older/cheaper ones are all rotten from road salt. Ive gotta envy you guys/gals that live in salt free environments, your junkyards are probably full of my projects at cheap prices.

I laugh when I see the articles in Hot Rod or Car Craft mag where the staffers are at the junkyards unbolting stuff from 60's & 70's cars with the greatest of ease. Must be nice!! Around here were "unbolting" stuff off 90's cars with a torch.

Amen to that. Now that I'm in Colorado the whole salt thing is in the past. We had the Oldsmobiles back in Chicago and lest just say that we could have financially supported a small country with all of the money we spent on Bondo.
  15. I used to own:

    1967 Camaro - 327 powerglide
    1977 Camaro - 305 turbo 350
    1937 Lincoln Zepher - V12 project car
    1973 Mercury capri - V6 4 speed and a glasspack!
    1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible

    Currently I own:

    1963 Ford Ranchero
    1971 Ford pickup - 460 with N2O injection
1979 Dodge Aspen - The Bundymobile
1977 Ford LTD - The Banana Boat :D

    I love old cars!

I had a 1928 Ford Model A, I sold it in 1988 after I bought my house. It sucked to have to sell the car and I still miss it, but I bought my first upright bass on the same day I sold the car. I sold the car for $5000.00 and bought the base for $200.00. The bass turned out to be an early 1800's french bass, worth more than the car. It takes up much less room and is a dream to play. I recently bought a 1977 Ford LTD with 24000 miles on it for $1300.00. It is like new, I use it only to cruise to the golf course.
  20. I have a 65 VW kombi, A 68 VW Kombi and a 1974 VW Thing. all are in good working condition. My everyday driver is the 68 kombi. I am going to be selling the 65 soon.
