I've got this guitar that my dad's friend was given by his neighbor. They were about to throw it out, but they asked him if they wanted it.

So, he knows I play guitar/bass whatever and gives it to me. I'm trying to find out what model this is. It was his neighbors kids who played it, who are about 40 now, and they played it as kids. So, that would mean it's from the 1960s/70s. The serial number is 3294-1050. (I'm not sure if this is the serial number, but it was inside the cavity of the guitar, right below the neck) The entire headstock is encrusted in red tortise shell pickguard material and 'Fender" is carved in.

It has MOP fret markers, but double markers on the 12th and 7th. Like a standard guitar would have, but with a "12th (Two dots)" fret marker at the 7th.

    Any ideas?

I have the same guitar. It belonged to my dad, and I'm trying to find out more about it as well. I have a pic of him playing it when he looked in his twenties, and he passed away last year at 72.
