I just dug this one out of my storage unit yesterday. it was made in w. germany, and looks more like an old hi-fi than a musical instrument amp, but it was made for an instrument, probably an organ. it uses an EL84 for its power tube and a 6AN8 for the preamp. anyway, i thought that some of you might get a kick out of seeing it.

    Germanamp-1.

    Germanamp-2.

i haven't truned it on yet as i intend to go thru it before i apply any power to it, just in case it has problems.

the controls and 1/4" input jack are on one of its sides. they're very simple: volume (on/off is on the control like on a tweed fender champ), & treble and bass.

    Germanamp-4.

the speakers are pretty trippy too. a 6x9 oval and a 4" midrange.

    Germanamp-3.

and here's a pic of the amp circuit:

    Germanamp-5.

that's kickass. My parents had an old speaker like that - it was much bigger than that though.

They ran their record player through it - I wish they still had it, but sold it at a garage sale many many years ago

"West Germany"? Yeah right! You're probably going to tell me that there was also an "East Germany"!! :D

I know a guy who collects antique electronic stuff. He says that this was for amplifying reel to reel tape decks. The tape deck sat on top.
