Were they made in Japan? I am getting one that needs a little work for $60 - P bass that looks to be 32” scale. I’m attaching some photos of similar basses I’ve seen on the internet but the one I’m picking up definitely looks older - ‘70s to ‘80s time frame. Thanks for any insights!

Here's a scan of what I found after buying a white one on Craigslist back in 2016. As an added bonus, mine came with a very nice Peavey chainsaw case. :)

Thanks! This is very helpful information. I thought it seemed of better quality than a China build (Japan or Korea).

I finished restoring the old Premier P-bass I bought. Needed 2 solder joints and a cleaned up jack. I took it all apart and gave it a thorough clean & polish and had to shim the neck. No identifying information on the bass anywhere so not sure if it was made in Japan or (likely) Korea, and I have no idea how old it actually is but I’m guessing ‘80s to ‘90s. Plays really well and sounds great! E2E35504-337E-41CA-9437-E703C71503AB.jpeg
