    Hey all,

I walked into a pawn shop the other day and saw a ampeg 2X15, It was old it's got blue covering, sealed It has probably and inch of filler on the inside around the wood walls, otherwise just a big air pocket.
It also has 4 latches on the top so you can take off the top and get to the top 15. It has a fender replacement 15 and what appears to be an original ampeg driver.

I am not all up on ampeg knowledge, Do you guys know what this is by my description

I don't know the ohm rating, is it safe to assume an old 2X15 to be 4 ohm's

I have a Peavey alpha bass all tube head through a home built 2X12 , with eminence delta 12 LF's. If it is a 4 ohm cab I would be kicking 40 watts to these old drivers, should they be able to take it, would they distort quick?

you will not get any modern tones from this box. should
be good for that old school 60/70's midrangy 'honk' type

should handle 40w plus no problem unless its broken.

Sounds like it might be a flip-top 2x15 cab.(?)

Does this cabs top, flip over and latch down either way?

Does the top have any screw holes,
that look like an amp might have been attached at some point?
