Ok, people, I'm planning to get a custom fretless built so I've been browsing the net searching for an old skool design other than the jazz/precision/hofner/gibson style.

It has to be solid body, bolt on, and have a pickguard.

My first idea was to take a Fender bass VI design, put a 34" neck, 5 strings, regular string spacing and Rio Grande's Powerbucker + jazz pickup. And instead the Bass VI pickguard, something more like the jazzmaster g***tar one.

The Ric's 300 g***tar series is also appealing to me.

Do you guys know other designs with this vibe to show me?

    That's nice :)

  4. I think Rickenbacker has made basses in the past with that 300 guitar shape. But that bass you just posted looks nice. Like a mixture between a Roscoe Beck and a Bass VI.

    Realize it:
    • 5 strings
    • Fretless
    • Mahogany body
    • Schaller bridge
    • Gotoh tuners
    • bart pickups
