[IMG] Hello. What exactly is the deal with the old Spector basses that had that hexagonal shaped pick-up? Is it a variation of your average split-coil P Bass p'up? Why doesn't Spector make them anymore?

it was just a funky p pickup. it looked bad, too. There were not many options for different pickups, either. so it really wasn't a great idea. I guess that's about it.

IIRC, it's a DiMarzio pick up. I think it was a P in a different casing.

He also used a preamp called a stars preamp in those basses.
Correct its just a P pickup.
