My used, e-bay bought 200T seems to be peaking out the preamp at relatively low volume, low gain, when using my 5-string and one 8 ohm cab. Have the gain set at 3, volume at 3, bass control at 4; hitting the low B not really that hard, I'm peaking the preamp and it farts. Is this a sign that the amp has seen better days and is ready for the retirement home? When I plug both 8 ohm cabs in, it really doesn't do it at the same settings, but to try and MAKE it peak when running both cabs will make the lamps fall from the ceilings...

I plan on an SVT II Pro sometime soon, but I can't seem to let go of that money............ . . . . . . ..... ....:meh:
  2. If your preamp is peaking out it's usually due to the input being to hot.

Are your basses active? I don't know much about Stingrays or L2500.
