(old) Tobias basic question

    T'bers, a friend has adquired a Tobuas basic with the serial 9626 allegedly bought around 10 years ago

    does anyone know if these basses came with a push pull active switch on the volume knob?? :confused:

    Probably. Even if it didn't come stock, somebody could have ordered it that way. With a Serial like that, it must be a Pre-Gibson.

    Yeah, it's pre-Gibson so I would think it was either a option or a stock feature.

    Nope, anything after 2044 is Gibson factory-made!!

    Yup, thats definitely a Gibson-era Tobias

    I've been playing an old Tobias, serial number 974. It has an active/passive switch, but it only bypasses the preamp. You still have to have battery power so that the bass works. I asked Michael Tobias about that, and here is his answer:
