    Hi All:

I recently did a TB trade deal for a set of older Bartolini 9Js (9J-S1 & 9J-L1). They are set up different than newer 9Js I see images of online. A reference pic of the pickups I have is below. I immediately discovered that one of the shield / ground wires is fatigue broken on the S1 pickup. NBD and I can fix that but I figured before I do I better check DC resistance to make sure there is nothing else obviously wrong. The S1 measures 2.9K ohms across the outputs and 1.5K to the red bridge posts. The L1 measures 4.4K ohms across the outputs and 2.2K to the red bridge posts. These readings seem low to me and do not match current mfg 9J specifications (6.1K S1 & 6.7K L1). I'm wondering if the early design had different specifications and that these readings are OK? I have to take a working bass apart to actually test them and don't have a build ready for them yet. Does anybody recall these numbers as familiar from these pickups? Any help is appreciated.

Got an answer from a Reverb seller and posted here for future archives. The above numbers are right for these pickups.
