'OLP Ernie Ball/Music Man' Basses?

    I recently received a music store catalogue (Allans Music) and on a page which features Music Man basses, it shows two other basses.

    It defines them as 'OLP' - Officially Liscensed Product, licensed by Music Man. They look identical to the $3000 versions except these 4 and 5 stringed models are only $739 and $839 (AUD).

    Is this a similar deal to Mexican/American Fenders? Has anyone played these basses and are they worth buying if you don't have $3000 to buy an original MM?

    Do a search here on this subject.....the OLP bass has been talked about incessantly over the last week or so.......you'll find many threads I'm sure
