OLP has two volume knobs?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Rick Martin, Mar 18, 2002.

  1. The OLP four string has two volume knobs for the one pickup. Why that be?

I believe its one volume one high control and one low control.

It is one volume and two tones, but I don't think it is passive bass/treble like a G&L. I played one a couple of times, and couldn't tell that either of them made much difference in the tone, other than rolling off a little treble.
  5. I have asked this question before and I was told that it is two volume knobs and they both serve a purpose relating to how the pickup is wired. I don't understand poles, series and parrallel as it relates to pickup wiring, but the people offering those explanations seemed to know what they were talking about. I just didn't understand.
